Everything You Need for Dental Implants, All in One Place
Single Tooth Implant
A single-tooth dental implant is a restorative dental procedure designed to replace one missing tooth. It consists of three main components:
- Implant Post: A titanium screw surgically placed into the jawbone, acting as an artificial tooth root.
- Abutment: A connector that attaches the implant post to the crown.
- Dental Crown: A custom-made, tooth-shaped cap that blends seamlessly with your natural teeth.
Unlike traditional bridges, which rely on adjacent teeth for support, a single-tooth implant stands independently, preserving the health of surrounding teeth and bone. This makes it a preferred choice for patients seeking a durable, long-term solution.
Full-Mouth Implants
Full-mouth implants replace an entire arch of missing or failing teeth with a permanent, implant-supported restoration. Using a series of implant posts anchored directly into the jawbone, we create a stable foundation for a complete set of teeth that look and function just like natural ones — no slipping, no adhesives, no compromises.
Snap-In Dentures
Snap-in dentures combine the affordability of traditional dentures with the stability of dental implants. A small number of implant posts are placed in the jaw, and your custom denture snaps securely into place — staying put while you eat and speak, yet still removable at home for easy cleaning.
Implant Bridges
An implant bridge is an ideal solution for replacing several consecutive missing teeth without touching the healthy teeth on either side. Instead of relying on neighboring teeth for support, the bridge is anchored to dental implants, providing a strong, natural-looking restoration that also helps preserve the underlying jawbone.
All-on-X Implants
All-on-X implants are a full-arch tooth replacement solution that supports a complete set of fixed teeth using just four to six strategically placed implants. The angled implant technique maximizes contact with available bone, allowing many patients to skip bone grafting and move more quickly toward a permanent, beautiful smile.
All-on-4 Implants
All-on-4 dental implants are a full-arch restoration solution that replaces an entire upper or lower set of teeth using just four strategically placed implants. This method relies on angling the rear implants to maximize contact with the available bone, thereby allowing many patients to avoid bone grafting. A custom full-arch prosthesis is then attached to the implants, offering immediate improvement in appearance and function.
Immediate Implants
An immediate implant is when a dental implant is placed right after a tooth is removed, often in the same visit. This helps keep your natural smile shape, speeds up treatment, and sometimes even allows a temporary tooth to be placed right away—so you don’t leave with a gap.
Dental Implant Procedure
The dental implant procedures begin with a thorough evaluation by Dr. Olson to determine your eligibility for dental implants. We look for factors like bone density, overall oral health, and medical history to establish your eligibility for dental implants. We use digital X-rays and CT scans to precisely plan the dental implant procedure. Our dental implant treatments are all done fully in-house.
After the initial consultation, the other steps involved in dental implant treatment include:
- Pre-surgery procedures: Patients with bone loss must undergo bone grafting to replenish lost bone tissue. Similarly, if you have a troublesome tooth, you must extract it first to create room for an implant. Typically, an implant can be placed 4 months after a bone graft.
- Dental implant surgery: We anesthetize your gums for maximum comfort before surgery. However, if you have dental anxiety or fear, our dentists can discuss sedation dentistry to ensure a worry-free dental experience. Once you are at ease, we incise your gums to reveal the underlying bone. We carefully and precisely drill a small hole into the bone, where the dental implant’s titanium post will be placed. Finally, we place a healing cap on the implant before suturing the wound site to begin healing.
- Healing and integration: We leave your implant for 3-4 months to allow the titanium post and bone to fuse through osseointegration. During the healing period, observe diligent oral care to ensure successful integration.
- Abutment placement: Once osseointegration occurs, we’ll uncover your implant to replace the healing cap with a connector (abutment) that links your implant to the final restoration. This minor surgery needs about two weeks for the gums to heal.
- Dental crown placement: After two weeks of healing, you’ll return to our office to complete the dental implant procedure. We’ll take the impressions of your implant that will guide us when fabricating your dental crown right here in our office, thanks to CEREC technology. Once your CEREC crown is ready, we permanently attach it to the abutment, completing the dental implant restoration.
Once the components of the dental implants settle in place, they won’t shift and don’t need adjustments or replacements in the future. The only part that might require replacement, typically after approximately 15 years, is the dental crown. Indeed, dental implants provide a long-lasting and permanent solution to tooth loss.
