What are full mouth dental implants?

When keeping your natural teeth is no longer an option, dental implants are the next best thing. An implant replaces your entire tooth, including its root. This design ensures your tooth is firmly anchored in the jawbone to provide unrivaled stability when eating, talking, or smiling.

Losing multiple teeth in the past meant using conventional dentures or placing an implant for every tooth lost. Full mouth implants are a revolutionary teeth replacement solution for multiple missing teeth. The dentist uses as few as four implants to replace an entire arch of missing teeth. This innovative way of full mouth restoration is affordable and less invasive.

Full mouth implants are a hybrid of dentures and implants and a proven method of replacing missing teeth. They’re stable and predictable and protect the bone structure of your teeth. There are no more embarrassing slippages or gum irritations from your restorations!

What can I expect from full mouth implants?

Are you interested in full mouth implants? Start by scheduling an appointment with Dr. Even Olson. We’ll assess your smile with digital scans, X-rays, and photos, discuss your treatment expectations, and make a plan to restore your smile. A bone graft may be needed, but this is rarely true with full mouth implants. The dentist takes advantage of the available bone by angling your implants in the densest location in the jawbone.

The dentist surgically implants 4-6 implants at an optimal position in the jawbone to ensure optimal alignment, stability, and function. Then, we’ll attach a temporary denture to your implants to restore function and aesthetics as your implants heal. Although implant placement is a surgical procedure, we’ll prioritize your comfort. The dentist uses highly effective anesthetics and on-site sedation to make your treatment comfortable.

We’ll leave your implants to heal for the next 4-6 months. New bone cells will form around the implants during this phase to stabilize them. Finally, your final prosthetic will be custom-made to ensure a perfect, natural-looking outcome. Your new teeth allow you to eat all your favorite foods and smile confidently everywhere you go.

What are the benefits of full mouth implants?

  • Stability when eating or talking
  • No discomfort or slipping when using your teeth
